This is brilliant. I just received a very critical email that I felt was completely unjustified. I wrote out my reaction but I have a rule that I never send anything for 24 hours when I'm upset. Sure enough this brilliant tip arrived in my mail today and now I will know how to completly reword my response. Being defensive keeps the fight going. Acknowledging the other person's point of view gives you nothing to fight about.
